The TransforMap (TMap) – a change
situational analysis tool
The TMap helps people in an
organisation (corporation, club or even family) get aligned
with each other. When we are confronted with change our
instinctive reaction is to resist. This resistance takes
various forms – avoidance, continual expression of our worst
fears, or just plain anxiety. We call this Voice 1.
Leaving
‘stuff’ behind is a key part of redesigning our lives,
starting to look forward to the possibilities and trying out
things which help us come to terms with the new. This is Voice
2.
Having
realised the possibilities offered by change, we are probably
faced with a number of choices. Our hearts will lead us in one
direction, our heads in another, but ultimately we will decide
on a goal or goals, put some measures in place to ensure we
get there, and go for it. This is Voice 3.
Problems occur
when people don’t recognise which Voice others are operating
in – the TMap gives real insights and surfaces this.
A TMap
conversation can be run for individuals, or groups of up to 15
people. The session typically takes 60-120 minutes, including
facilitated playback and feedback.
